We really don’t have to make mistakes at every phase of our lives. Some people have gone have walked through a path and are willing to share their lessons with us, only if we would pay attention.
Genevieve publisher, Betty Irabor is one woman that stays true to that and has become a source of inspiration and encouragement to many, especially women.
Her magazine, Genevieve Magazine, will clock 15 years old on the 13th of February and she is but grateful for taking the leap to start it. From the experiences she gathered when she wanted to start, Betty Irabor is charging us to ignore naysayers and start it afraid.
Morning has broken!! Genevieve turns 15 on the 13th of February and we are in the mood to celebrate our achievement. “If I collected N10 for every time someone said publishing was not for women and that it couldn’t be done, I would be listed on Forbes alongside the richest women in Africa”.
If I had listened to all the jargons from naysayers who said it couldn’t be done; there will be no Genevieve! My dream would have died with me and I would have had to explain to God at my death why I was such a freaking coward. On your journey towards your goal you have to know when to PRESS MUTE for conversations you do not want to be a part of. Don’t entertain bad vibes.
Listen ehn, the fact that others have tried and failed should never stop you from trying. Others have failed but you are not OTHERS. Ignore stereotypes and believe that your testimony will be different but success doesn’t come cheap!
