The Whatsapp Message Nurse Hauwa Sent Before She Was Abducted At Rann

After the attack on the Dapchi schoolgirls, Boko Haram terrorist carried out another attack last week Thursday, in Rann, Borno state, killing four policemen, three humanitarian aid workers and abducted a nurse.

Hauwa Leman, the nurse who was abducted by the terrorist group reportedly sent a message through Whatsapp before she was captured.

She sent the message to one of her male friends, telling him in Hausa that he should inform her parents that she had been kidnapped. “‘We are under attack in Rann. They are shooting everywhere please pray for me; please go and tell my parents that I am in trouble. Please, look for Fatima and tell her they are taking us away. They have entered here now…” she said in the message.

Hauwa is a 24-year old student studying health education at the University of Maiduguri. She was reportedly contracted by an international organization to work in Rann for three months and she resumed work two weeks ago.
