Some days ago, it was reported that a Nigerian artiste, Zainab Ali-Nielsen, popularly known as Alizee, and her four-year-old daughter, was allegedly killed by her husband, Peter Nielsen.
The unfortunate incidence took place at the family’s home at Ocean Parade, Banana Island in the early hours of Thursday.
Punch reported that the late singer is a native of Kogi State and had signed a two-year record deal with an Asian record label, Petra Entertainment in 2017, which reportedly earned her a brand new Ford explorer, a house on Banana Island and international distribution with affiliates of her record company in Asia.
Zainab’s 12-year old sister, Gift, who reportedly witnessed the incident, said she heard her sister’s cry for help on the day of the incidence.
“I was at home when the incident occurred. When she was crying for help, I went to see what was going on and I saw the husband hitting her head on the wall. I couldn’t come out because I knew he would descend on me too. The man is aggressive.”
Meanwhile, their father said Peter had beaten his daughter last year but promised never to repeat the incidence when it was reported at the police station.
Zainab’s father said Peter had called him on the day his daughter died and told him that he found Zainab and her daughter on the kitchen floor.
“I asked what went wrong; he didn’t say a word and dropped the call. One of my two daughters staying with them called their mother and broke the news. We took the next flight to Lagos and found out she was dead truly. I didn’t even know my grandchild was dead too. I told my daughter to get Petra for me and we should go, then she told me she was dead too. I was shocked. The husband claimed it was gas suffocation that killed them. We know that gas doesn’t kill people that way. In the pictures, you would see bruises all over their bodies. They were strangled to death,” Punch reported
Peter, Zainab’s husband has been arrested and detained by the police.
“The suspect is not an Italian, but from Denmark. He has been arrested and transferred to the State CID, Panti, for thorough investigation by the Homicide Department. The command has also written the embassy on the suspect that the police are investigating one of their national,” NAN reports.
