A graduate of Accounting, 31-year old Nkiru Emodi was tired of being told that she needed some years of experience before she could work, so, she decided to do something instead of just sitting at home.
She wanted to do something that would bring in money and also give other people like her an opportunity to work, so, she started a shoe making business.
Nkiru loves shoe so much that she doesn’t mind waking up in the middle of the night to make one if she is called to do so.
A business she started with N90, 000 is gradually growing. In fact, Nkiru now makes shoe for some Nigerian celebrities.
“This is my passion, it gives me joy. Even if the government doesn’t help me, I will continue doing what I love to do,” she told BBC Pidgin.
Now, she is advising other unemployed graduates to find something doing rather than wait for a white collar job or till they have millions before they can start a business.
