Some Details About The Big Deal Mo Abudu Signed with Sony Pictures

Congratulations to Mo Abudu, the CEO of EbonyLife TV as she signs a major deal with Sony Pictures Television on co-developing three TV projects.

The three-project deal, which is described as the first of its kind between an American TV production studio and a Nigerian/African company is said to include a TV series inspired by the Dahomey Warriors.

Dahomey was a West African kingdom in what is now the Republic of Benin and the warriors are female fighters who came together to protect their kingdom.

The series will tell the empowering story of the all-female warriors and show the ultimate strength of women coming together, fighting to protect and honour their people.

The development on the Dahomey Warriors project will start immediately as Sony Pictures Television will distribute the series internationally.

EbonyLifeTV will also exclusively adapt the hit game show ‘The Dating Game’ for Nigerian audiences, which is a deal with SPT.

Excited about the deals, Mo said the vision of the company has always been to change the narrative about Africa and to tell Africa’s stories from Africa’s perspective.

Our 3 projects will include a TV series inspired by The Dahomey Warriors. This action packed series inspired by true events took place in the West African kingdom of Dahomey in 1890's. This is an empowering story of the all female warriors from our continent!!! I could not be more proud as we developed this story👏🏾. I thank Sony for being such visionaries, for committing huge resources to this project. The plans for these projects are massive. To include A listers as part of our cast. But what also gladdens my heart, is that there will also be great opportunities for cast and crew from across the continent to include Nigeria of course🇳🇬 This is a true partnership.
