They Have ‘Doctor’ On Their Tags and a Stethoscope around Their Neck, But Some People Still Call Them Nurse…

Recently, some Nigerian female doctors expressed their displeasure at the way they are addressed because they are women. According to many of them, wearing a uniform that has “DOCTOR” written on it, with a stethoscope hanging on their neck, doesn’t stop anyone from addressing them as a nurse.

While this could be a sexist issue, for some people, it is a mentality thing as they perceive nurses to be women and doctors to be men.

Some Nigerian female doctors share their experiences.

It’s a sexist culture, they need to wake up to gender equality and accept women are capable doctors.
