Odia Iyoha is an Entrepreneur, Content Writer and a Dental Student. She runs Jodi Integrated Enterprises, a business entity that is into production and sales of natural drinks and products.

She answers our HOT questions below:

What’s one thing that’s happened to you that has made you stronger?

(Takes a deep breath) Trusting and helping someone who turned out to be an ingrate. I employed this particular guy to assist me with the day to day running of my business.

He stole from me and till date, I haven’t set eyes on him. All trails erased. When the incident happened, I lost it completely because the incident made me feel like a complete failure. It has been a while though.

I learnt real life lessons from the whole experience, one of which is “the fact that you show kindness to a person doesn’t mean they will treat you the same way too.”

Everyone is looking for who to use for their selfish gain. Pray not to get involved with such people. Now that I think about it, it made me stronger emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

If you can say one thing to your 18 year old self, what will it be?

Take five, you were amazing there! You did lot of brave things, kudos. But then you relaxed, why? Life never stops for anyone. You shouldn’t have stopped for life.

If you don’t have to worry about making money, what would you do all day?

Hmm, this money sha. Money is not the only reason why I am working though. If I didn’t have to work for money or for any other reason, I would become an ‘Ajala’, traveling round the world learning new recipes from every city I visit and trying them out all day. If I am not cooking, I would be out exploring new tourist sites.

Would you like to be famous? In what way?

Yasss!!! The Uche Pedro kinda. Not to be famous for mediocrity or noise. You know, be known for something commendable or innovative like Richard Branson, Dr. Ola Orekunrin Brown, Akin Alabi, Tara Durotoye, Mark, Tony Elumelu, Jason Njoku, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Linda Ikeji, Agatha Amata, Mo Abudu, all the ‘B’ named billionaires of America and every person out there who dared to become.

People who made hitherto unexisting niches become selling hotcakes and still managed to stay on top of their game. I want to be like them but floating in my own niche.

What do you consider the most beautiful thing about your personality?

(Smiles) I would say the ability to see and celebrate the good in others even when the feeling is not reciprocal.

Would you rather explore space or the deep sea? Why

If ever I am presented with such an opportunity, deep sea. Well well, I think I preferred my first time on water to my first time in the air.

I am naturally drawn to water. My sign is the water sign. I fancy the idea of finding myself under water in the midst of millions of treasures and stones and having to keep some as souvenirs.

What is the one compliment that people always seem to give you?

I hear this a lot – You are very gifted, you know a lot of things, I wish I was like you.

Do you believe in miracles? Have you ever experienced one? Please share

100%!!! Yes I have experienced many. They are too numerous to pick any Everyday of my life is a miraculous story – for real.

Is there something that you’ve dreamt of doing for a long time? Why haven’t you done it?

Yes. There were two on my priority list. For one, the opportunity just presented itself recently without stressing myself over it, it would be happening before the year runs out. For the second, it is the lack of funds. Am I supposed to say exactly what they are?

What would make you leave someone you love?

Let’s see. Well, if the person continues to be myopic, lacks great vision/dream or is just so laid back.

When was the last time you complimented a complete stranger? What did you say?

Very recently. She was spotting a dress that I couldn’t stop staring at so I complimented it with a big smile. ‘I love your outfit’

Who is the strongest woman that you personally know? And why?

This would be my biological mother. Mentally, she has defied medicine. You don’t want to know how.

What is the most annoying thing you have heard people say about women in Nigeria?

Heard? I can’t place any but I get to read a lot of annoying things about women like “No be women again, they are very cheap just give them indomie and egg with La casera and they will bark if you ask them to. If you know you know.” How annoying!

What is the one important thing about being a woman that you would want your daughter to know?

It is that as a woman, you are worth more than you know. A woman is the bedrock of a nation, her worth is far more than the strength of a thousand army. You are strong in your skin.

If you have the power to fix one thing in Nigeria, what will it be and WHY?

Light!!!!!!!!!! With a hundred exclamation marks. To have light is to have life. I am not speaking parables here. Let us face it, if light can be made constant, the government will not have to worry about unemployment as much as now because the jobs will begin to create itself.

Nigerians are very hardworking people but the lack of ordinary light has driven many into crime. You are in the media, so you will agree with me that there have been lots of criminal confessions of people who abandoned their businesses and took to crimes when the cost of running the businesses became higher than profits made because of no light and having to depend on power generating sets.

In my own mind, 101% of businesses require electricity. Most people are out of business today because of no light. You cannot downplay the role of electricity in fighting unemployment. You just can’t.

If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year old, which would you choose?

Why would I want to buy only one when I can buy one and get the other one free? I would choose the body of a 30 year old. You know why?

If I choose the mind of a 30 year old in the body of a 90 year old, I won’t enjoy it any bit because the mind of a 30 year old is very active and alert and it would be too stressful for the body of a 90 year old which will cause her to break down.

But if I choose the body of a 30 year old, it would mean that every system, organ, tissue, cell in the body will still be healthy – including the brain. Don’t forget where your mind is. So buy one, get ten extra.

Would you be willing to have horrible nightmares for a year if you would be rewarded with extraordinary wealth for a life time? Why or Why not?

No. Anyone who endures horrible nightmares for a year can never be normal again. Even the wealth will become a nightmare. If I won’t enjoy the wealth after one year of nightmares, why should I bother?

If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one special quality or ability, what would it be?

The ability to stop accidents and suicides right before they happen. The SuperWoman ability.

If a crystal ball could tell you the truth about yourself, your life, the future or anything else, what would you want to know? Why or why not?

Nothing. Ignorance is bliss. That didn’t come from me, no. I definitely would want to know something, just don’t know what I would want to know or maybe because what I would love to know is on the mystery of life and death.

If you had the opportunity to learn exactly what every person in your life really thinks about you, would you take it? Why or why not?

No. That would be a migraine inducing thing to do. But as a cancerian, I think I possess some of the ability to do that already just that it can’t be exact. Trust me, even that is no fun, I don’t want.

If you had to give up one of your limbs in exchange for a cure for cancer, would you do it?

Hmmmm, deep. Let us forget that this is not real for a second. I would do it so long as it is a cure for every damn cancer type. What is the pain of losing a limb compared to the pain of losing millions of loved ones to cancer?

Of course, I know if the situation were to present itself, it wouldn’t be an easy decision to make just like that.

If someone paid you a million dollars to wear the same exact outfit every day for the rest of your life, would you do it?

There is a saying in Yoruba that translates thus in pidgin: Money wey no dey smell for your body no be money at all. I think it is something like: Owo ti o jade lara e, se owo ni yen? I hope I got it.

My answer is no.

If you could have a conversation with any type of animal in the world, which would you choose? What will you say?

Animal? (Thinking…)  Maybe a Cow or a Snake. Don’t ask about the snake!

I have heard that cows shed tears when they see the butcher’s knife because they know it would eventually be used to kill them. You know those talks.

My question would just be to find out what exactly goes on in their minds when they see the knives and if it is true that they always shed tears.
