How These Plus-Size Women Are Encouraging Others To Be Proud Of Their Body Through Their Group – Lush Beauties

Looking beyond their body, some plus-size women formed a group, Lush Beauties, to encourage other plus-size women to be proud of their body. According to them, there is nothing they can’t do as a plus-size woman.

“We are only fat. It is not an illness”, a group of plus size women told BBC Yoruba.

A member of the group, Jubi shared what she has been able to do as a plus-size woman.

“Some people among us will say they can’t take a bus or a tricycle because they will be asking them to shift or pay two people’s fare. I’ve been a fat person right from my childhood but the way I carry myself endeared me to people. I do different kinds of sport and it make people wonder how a fat person like me carry herself gracefully.

When I got admitted into a higher institution, I started fighting by Taekwando. I represented my school in NUGA (Nigeria University Games Association) games at Minna.”

During my service year i was asked to contest for miss nysc and i declined under the guise that i was fat.after much pressure i agreed only to reach the training ground and got the worst humiliation of my life the slimmer girls made fun of me and simply asked me to leave. That experience helped me to gain confidence more in myself

As much as one should love their boby, also beware of loving it in a wrong way that could also lead to sickness and lack of mobility. Trust me fat is sickness
