When Gloria Oloruntobi, popularly known as Maraji started uploading her Instagram videos, she didn’t know she would be cashing in on it.
Out of boredom, Gloria started making skits and uploading them on her Instagram page. It’s been 2 years now and she is still amazed at the reception she’s gotten from people.
“Fame was not necessarily the end goal. I just do this because it makes me happy. When I see my content, I’m like, ‘you’re so good. That was so nice” she said, in an interview with Ebuka Uchendu on Rubbin’ Minds.
The 21-year old graduate of International Relations revealed that she makes an average of N500, 000 to N1million on a sponsored post, however, she rejects some business offers because she doesn’t want to flood her timeline with sponsored posts.
“I don’t want to flood my timeline with sponsored stuffs. I intentionally want to make people laugh. And I try to make things blend in, so, it depends on the service I’m trying to advertise. If its something I can portray well and not something that seems far from what I embody” she said.
Amazingly, from getting an inspiration of what to do, to crafting the idea, analyzing it, shooting the video, which may take hours and editing it, which may take a few days, Gloria does everything.
With role models like Chioma Omeruah, popularly called Chigurl and Genevieve, Gloria is hoping to join the Nigerian film industry soon.
