Jekein Lato-Unah Is Using Art To Speak For The Women Who Need A Day Or Two To Recover From The Brutalities Of Patriarchy

Jekein Lato-Unah is a budding multi-disciplinary artist, trained in the art of pottery, painting and performance art.

Her paintings celebrate women, frown upon female oppression and objectification and speak on social constructs. By breaking down her pieces into patterns and fragments of both color and monochrome, Jekein aims to tackle and break down the harshness of patriarchy that dominates the society.

Jekein’s work graces public and private art collections across Africa and she has been interviewd by the Humans of New York.
