We are still demanding for justice for 13-year-old Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbaje, who was raped many times by her Aunty’s husband, Andrew Ogbuja and his son, Victor Ogbuja. Elizabeth died from serious health complications including Vesicovaginal Fistula, after she was serially raped for five years.
Andrew Ogbuja is the Head of Department, Catering and Hotel Management at the Benue State Polytechnic, Benue State, and his son, Victor is a final year student of Animal Production at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi. Her Aunty claims she had no knowledge of what was happening.
A twitter user, @bolunigeria shared a video showing Ochanya being interviewed by AIT Makurdi before she died few days ago. In the video, late Ochanya was seen sharing how it all started.
“…started 2013 when I was five years old, I went to my mother’s sister’s house to school because there was no school in my village. So, when I went there, when I was 8 the son started sleeping with me. so, when the sister caught him, the sister then reported him to the father, then the father scolded at him and that was when the father started,” she narrated.
Enuwa Soo, the care giver of a foundation, Restorer of Path Care, explained that when the case was reported to her in June, Ochanya looked very sick.
Here is a Video of Ochanya interviewed by NTA Makurdi shortly before she died few days ago.
