On the 7th of July, 2018, Pastor Sunmbo Adeoye, welcomed a baby boy. Before the birth of this baby, Sunmbo had experienced series of miscarriages, which only close family and friends knew about.

Some Sundays ago, while speaking during a sermon titled, “There Is Joy Set Before You”, Sunmbo talked about her attitude while waiting on God for the fruit of the womb. After her last miscarriage, Sunmbo said she decided she was going to be happy despite what happened to her.

Read her testimony here,

When I was waiting on the lord for the fruit of the womb and I conceived for the very first time, I was so happy. I don’t know if conception can make anybody happy. I was very happy that I conceived. It was a breakthrough.

After the several series of miscarriages, last year I conceived again and I went to America. And then I came back sometime in June after another sad case of miscarriage and you know how the devil can try to bring your problems to your sight and make it visible and say, “isn’t it finished? After all you’re still waiting”.

And then I’m home and I said, “God give me a reason to be thankful, give me a reason to be joyful.”  In July, Nino graduated from elementary school and was going to secondary school. We went for graduation party, I was happy but people were still greeting me, “Iya Ibeji”, because I still had a bloated stomach.

And the people do not know what had happened to me and usually I will not wear all of those things on my face. They started looking at me and say, “Congratulations, Mrs. Adeoye” and then I would smile and the devil will remind me that there is nothing there.

And then I would hold my stomach and I would decree and declare that my womb is not a coffin, this womb will carry a healthy baby but there was no way I could tell these people that there is nothing there. And the blogs will carry it that she’s expecting a baby for her Pastor husband.

People will call me from everywhere and say congratulations, we read it from online that you are expecting a baby, I’ll say “Glory to God, for God has done it and he will perform it”.

And so, October came, it was Pastor’s birthday. Something just struck me that it is an opportunity for me to rejoice. As an event planner, I was looking for a reason to throw a party. So, we went on a boat cruise on the Island. We were drinking, we were smiling, we were taking selfies. We were so happy, we made love and it was that night that David was made.

What I am trying to say is that, while waiting, enjoy your life, be happy. It is in the place of your happiness that your miracles will find you.

You need to be deliberate. As at that time when we were enjoying our lives, when we were drinking and taking selfies and making love, we didn’t know that our miracle had already been planted that night but we were joyful, we were happy. Fast forward to July 7, 2018, there comes our baby, David.

Watch her speak here. Her testimony starts from 58:49
