Nere is the Managing Director of Kain Smith Trade & Co Ltd, a company involved in mining, consulting, mineral concession management, minerals trading and brokerage. Its mining portfolio and mineral expertise is primarily on gold.
After seven years of trying to get a license, they were granted the first Gold Refining License in Nigeria in October 2018. With plans to open the first Gold refinery in Nigeria this year, Nere’s company has already started work on its site in Ogun State, Nigeria.
According to the 36-year-old woman, the refinery will be ready to start production by the end of the first half of 2019. It will produce a capacity of 3 tonnes per month of 99.99% gold and 1 ton per month production of 99.99% silver.
Thankfully, when completed, the refinery will provide more than 500,000 jobs in two years as it will support its suppliers in their bid to become registered business entities in the mining sector.
Nere plans to bring stability and organization to a industry that is plagued by illegal mining activities. Her vision for the Nigerian mining sector is to have success stories in mineral exploration, mining & successful community development -all bringing positive holistic impact to the economy, which will finally put Nigeria on the map as a destination for mining.
