When the election was postponed last week Saturday, Kehinde Fagbolagun didn’t believe the news. She wanted to know if it wasn’t shifted to the most important day in her and her twin’s life-their wedding day.
The Fagbolagun twins had fixed their wedding for the 23rd of February so as to avoid having any issues with the aftermath of the presidential elections.
Unfortunately, the presidential election which was supposed to take place on the 16th of February was postponed to the 23rd because of logistics reasons, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
“I was sleeping when my twin sister came to meet me at 3am that the election would no longer hold, that it had been postponed. In fact, I didn’t believe it”, Taiwo Fagbolagun told BBC Yoruba.
Everything is ready but the twins are at a loss on what to do.
“We are confused on what will happen now. Our wedding dresses are ready. We have sold aso-ebi. The invitation cards have been printed. I think the brides’ and the grooms’ family have to come together to reach an agreement”, Kehinde said.
