Nigerians are demanding for quick prosecution of two Nigerian men, Chima George and Razak Oke, who are accused of drugging and raping a 23-year old woman on camera.

According to the woman’s story, she went to a club with them but was drugged and taken to De Lankaster Hotels without her consent, where they took turns to rape her and also filmed the act.

When the victim woke up from the induced sleep, she confronted the suspects who denied raping her. Not satisfied, she called her elder brother, who invited the police and they found a video on their phone.

Some days ago, news went round that the men had been released by the police after being paid by Chima’s father, who is the owner of the hotel where the woman was raped.

Refuting the claim, the PRO of the Zone 2 Command, CSP Dolapo Badmos said the young men are still in custody and have been charged to court.

“The two suspects who were alleged to have forcefully had carnal knowledge (sexual intercourse ) of a lady (name withheld) were arraigned before the special offences court of Lagos State (Family court 3) on 6th day of February 2019 on charges of Conspiracy, Sexual Assault and Rape, consequently they were reminded in prison till the next adjournment date..(facts can be cross checked with the court and Prison service)”, she wrote on her Instagram page.

Despite the assurance of the police that the  men will be prosecuted, Nigerians are not backing down in their call for justice. Using the hashtag #JusticeForRapeInNigeria, people are demanding for a quick prosecution of the men.
