The importance of mentorship in the lives of women cannot be overestimated. It is one of the key drivers of success, yet women can have a hard time finding mentors, especially ones with influence.

Thankfully, media mogul, Mo Abudu is tackling this problem with her mentoring programme which launched few days ago. She sat with young women of different careers at Oakwood Park Hotel in Lagos, where they talked about their dreams.

“I looked around the room and seated was the most incredible group of young girls, some lawyers, bankers, doctors, bloggers, writers, content developers, artists, budding entrepreneurs and some still studying. With what I saw in that room yesterday, I am convinced that the future is bright and our girls are going to play a significant role in our development and growth as a nation, we just need to harness and nurture our girls”, she wrote on her Instagram page.

The women were also privileged to hear from other successful women from different industries.

Sharing one of her tips for success from the event, she said,

“HOLD ON TIGHT TO YOUR DREAMS. ITS ONE THING THAT NOBODY CAN TAKE AWAY FROM YOU NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE, NO MATTER WHAT SITUATION YOU MIGHT FIND YOURSELF IN. Once you know the WHAT, you just simply then need to figure out THE HOW – YOUR DREAMS must become an ADDICTION and an OBSESSION once obsessed and addicted, the HOW will come.”

Funding our dreams and lifestyle is probably the most critical factor to our every day to day existence. How we manage our resources, how we create wealth, spend, save, invest for tomorrow – the need to keep creating wealth. How we manage financial risks in business is equally important to how we manage financial risks in our personal financial life . Risk is nothing but an uncertain event that might damage our assets and when it is financial risks it creates loss of finance. So understanding the rules we must. And no one does break it down better than Nimi Akinkugbe.
