“I Think I Was About Two To Three Months Pregnant When The Issues Came” – Yvonne Jegede Confirms Separation From Her Husband

Early this year, separation rumours trailed the marriage of Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede and her actor husband, Olakunle Fawole.

The rumours were almost confirmed when Yvonne removed her husband’s name from her Instagram bio and he was absent during the dedication of their son in church.

In an interview with Pulse, Yvonne has finally confirmed the rumours about the crash of her marriage. According to her, the issues in her marriage were getting worse by the day, so, she moved out of their matrimonial home after a mutual agreement.

However, Yvonne said her marriage to Olakunle was worth it for the months it lasted. She said she wouldn’t take for granted the times they shared together as a couple. The couple got married in February 2017.

She said,

We started having issues before the birth of Xavier. I think I was about two to three months pregnant when the issues came. Immediately the issues came, there was never a dull moment, it just kept going up and up and it got worse and it got bad and today here we are.

He wasn’t with me all through the delivery and after the birth of our baby. as a matter of fact, he wasn’t there physically or emotionally. At that stage, I was very tender and vulnerable and I wanted care and concern but I didn’t get any of that. It was basically like I got myself pregnant.

Right now, we are not living together, and we are not living as husband and wife, we are not husband and wife anymore and I would say a mutual agreement to go our separate ways. It didn’t work out, it wasn’t working out.

I wonder why people throw spoilt shoes away instead of fixing them. I can only walk away from an abusive relationship, others can be fixed I believe. Expercially when God is involved.

    • Ifeoluwa Watson

Fixing a relationship can only happen when the two people involved are ready to work on it. Only one person trying would be like walking into a wall. That’s why there are lots of depressed married women ‘fighting’ for their marriage when the husband is far out. You can’t force someone who doesn’t want to be with you even God has given humans the free will to choose their path in life.
