A UK-based Ghanaian woman, Elizabeth Amoah has revealed that she has been living with double womb and double vagina canal, until she was diagnosed some years ago.
Popularly known as ‘Special Lady’, Elizabeth said that she has had to undergo seven medical surgeries after she was diagnosed of having sexual complications.
“I discovered I had a double womb and a double vagina canal in 2015 after an MRI scan, so I had to undergo about 7 surgeries,” Ghana Web reported, noting that the scan also showed that she had endometriosis.
According to Elizabeth, having double vagina means “having one vagina outside and the other inside,” adding that the double womb usually does not come with any symptoms but exposes one to health challenges such as irregular periods, fibroids, irregular fainting and in some instances cause infertility.
“I had a premature baby after four years of not conceiving, and going through such health situations wasn’t easy,” she said.
Because the condition is not common in women, Elizabeth has decided to return to her home country to educate women on female reproductive health challenges.
