Thursdaline Peter Is Teaching Nigerian Women Taekwondo So They Can Defend Themselves Against Bullies

Thursdaline Peter (@thursdaline) is a Taekwondo fighter and self-defense trainer.

She is Nigeria’s youngest Taekwondo referee and has won several awards, representing Nigeria in Africa and Asia.

Thursdaline also teaches women how to fight.

In fact she has once beaten a robber.

In a chat with BBC News Pidgin at bbc.com/pidgin/sport-41127173, Thursdaline talked about her work and how it is changing lives.

She said,

No allow anybody talk you into say, you weak. Boys and girls, dem different. Boys and girls, dem get equal rights.

Other boys go come to me, dem go dey tell me say make I fight with them, all the training we go do, I go do with dem, I go kick dem, dem go kick me, dem no dey pity me
