Launched in 2016, The Rele Young Contemporaries program includes a schedule of mentorship sessions, portfolio review and studio visits as a means to deepen the knowledge of the artists in preparation for a career in the arts.
This year, for their class of 2018, five artists were chosen, two of which are women.
Having undergone curatorial guidance, mentorship from professional artists and awarded grants to create a new body of work, the women exhibited their projects recently.
