Leaving a white collar job to start the entrepreneurial life from the scratch is not an easy thing to do but Omoye Abulimen’s passion for leather led her into the shoe making world. As expected, her parents kicked against it. Thankfully, years later, she hasn’t regretted her decision.
Read her story
“Who quits an air-conditioned office to sit under a tree and start making shoes?
Me! My dad thought I was crazy after paying millions in school fees and his daughter decided to start “knacking shoes” under the hot sun.
I was discouraged until the seriousness in me turned that to encouragement!
“Why don’t you get another job to assist?”
“Have you lost your mind?”
“What happens to your degree in HRM?”
“What if this venture doesn’t work?”
“How, why?”
“Isn’t this a male field? Can you cope?” These questions bombarded me day and night but I couldn’t stop fantasizing with the romantic relationship I had with leather ❤
Did I have all the funds I needed? No! Even after selling my most “prized possession”, money no still complete, but I started anyway and I was still duped from the small I had o.
From day one, the support has been massive!
I owe it all to God and the amazing clients that come my way!
From starting alone to having a strong team of 11 personnel and over 2,000 clientele base, I’m grateful and thankful!
The story is a long one (I will share in bits). But the long and short of it is this, if you have the passion, grace and purpose will take you places you have never imagined!
KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. Have a dream, work and faith works like no man’s business and DONT GIVE UP !
Be CONSISTENT!
It WILL be tough. There are days I wanted to quit, but it has always worth it! Especially when the credit alert is coming in”.
