The definition of boldness is to take risks or act innovatively, confident and courageous!
By definition, bold women are those who are clear about what they want and their purpose in life. It’s fairly easy to be confused on which direction to go, but bold women have the conviction of their direction and path. They are strong, persistent, and driven to do whatever it is they are passionate about. They set definitions and chart their paths while leaving a trail for others to follow.
This Women’s International Day I want to encourage all women to be bold and fearless in everything they do. A bold woman is not afraid to be the odd one in the room. The one who will fight for justice, social change and the ability to have a seat at the table, either they give us a seat or we will bring a chair.
We are fearlessly different, we set trends and redevelop who we are while breaking the status quo. We are women bold, fearless and strong! We are the backbone of society, we have the ability to transform atmospheres and shift thinking. We revolt against policies and treaties that threaten us as a society.
We have been underestimated for centuries but we refuse to remain silent; ask Rosa Parks we will always stand for what we believe in. We are the fearless Esthers to our generation, willing to sacrifice ourselves for the greater good. We are mothers to nations and just like the phenoenician woman in the bible we are fearless, relentless and determined to pursue all God has for us. We will continue to birth the life we want to see.
Women have toiled the soil for years and we are not accepting one position or one ideology of who society thinks we should or can be. We are going to be everything God has called us to be.
To my sisters who are reading our Bold And Fearless Woman Magazine, it is my prayer for you to believe in yourself again! You have absolutely everything it takes to become all that you can be. Do not allow anyone to box you in or trample upon your dreams. If you can think of it you can achieve it, our minds are one of the most powerful resources we have.
We have examples such as Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama, Harriet Tubman, Maya Angelou, Kamala Harris, Mia Amor Mottley, Sarah-ann Gill, Edna Ermy Bourne, Velma Scantlebury, Shonda Rhimes and Rihanna Fenty just to name a few. These are all women who pursued their passions and calling and refused to settle or accept the norm. They pushed beyond the grain and we can too.
Gone are the days when women had to stay home and cook and clean, now we hold offices, run huge corporations, lead countries and create new inventions while being mothers and wives. As you read the words of these powerful women, I invite you to be inspired by their boldness and know that their boldness and fearlessness is only a representation of you!
